STUDIO PROJECTS
THE HUNTINGTON'S PARADOX MAGAZINE SPREAD
In my image and technology course, we were assigned to recreate an image that will represent the content in a magazine article. I was assigned an article on how the CAG triplet gene in our DNA can produce grey-matter in the brain, which ultimately can lead to Huntington disease if the brain is overly exposed to it. I was able to create this image with Adobe Photoshop and Indesign for sample magazine spread. I used a series of layer mask to isolate different elements in the image and I used a bright yellow background to make the image pop from a distance.

SHAPE GRAMMAR PROJECT
In this project I had the opportunity to create a logo design system for the Boys and Girl Club of America. I took their current logo and created a set of rules to show another way the logo could possibly be designed. Next, I took the current design and altered it to create a brand new logo which represents a smaller organization within the Boys and Girls Club called, "Boys and Girls Clubhouse of America". This small organization is a mentorship programed designed to help high school students make a smooth transition into college or some form of secondary education. The new Boys and Girls Clubhouse logo has a different set of rules and a different kind of shape grammar that makes the overall design more interesting and symbolic.

Flight Plan Board Game
The flight plan board game was our final project for the fall 2016 semester. We were partnered up into groups of 2-4 students to create a board game with a interesting theme to follow. My partner and I decided to go with an international travel theme and highlight the potential good and bad scenarios at an airport. The goal of the game is be the first one to go around the board and collect all the international cards (London, Tokyo, Prague, Rio, Bahamas). There are chance cards, bypasses cards, travel insurance, perks, and set backs throughout the game that can make it a challenge as well as spark friendly competition amongst the group.

The New Yorker Reference Journal
The New Yorker Reference Journal was a group project that analysis the system of The New Yorker Magazine. My partner, Allona Wilkerson, and I took a deep dive in how The New Yorker structures their grids, taxonomy, hierarchy, image treatment, font type, etc. This project gave us the opportunity to learn about different type systems and how to construct a publication that the everyday consumer can recognize.

Typography Study: Avenir
Spring semester of my sophomore we were task pick from a list of fonts, and study it’s structure and type anatomy. I went with Avenir because of it’s bold and strong san serif appearance and I felt like I could really elaborate on it’s anatomy amongst all the other fonts. Here are a few poster examples that represent the certain element of the Avenir font.
